What about Spanish murals of the 20th century? Needs and opportunities.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this lecture, an overview of the production of murals in Spain during the 20th century is given, relating the type of works carried out with the political and socioeconomic events that conditioned their characteristics and their durability. We will see how many of them were lost and forgotten without the appreciation they demand. There are many studies to be done from which we can learn a lot about our identity and our more recent history, as well as how artists in our field have reinterpreted traditional mural techniques and introduced new industrial materials into art. The combination of interest, the collection of documents from the artist's immediate environment and the use of current analytical and diagnostic techniques will allow us to approach the conservation and restoration processes in the safest conditions to preserve such a significant heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mercedes Sanch\u00e9z Pons <\/strong>362 \/ 5 000\nResultados da tradu\u00e7\u00e3o\nShe holds a PhD from the Universitat Polit\u00e9cnica de Valencia (2002, Program for the Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage). Since 2003, she has been a professor at the Department of Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage at the UPV in degrees and masters, where she has taught since 2006 the conservation and restoration of mural paintings, namely contemporary murals and urban art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She is member of the research group \n\u201cWorkshop on Analysis and Intervention in Mural Paintings\u201d do Instituto Universitario de Restauraci\u00f3n del Patrimonio da UPV e pertence ao Micro-Research Cluster (MCI) \u201cGlobalization, Tourism and Heritage\u201d do International Campus de Excel\u00eancia VLC\/CAMPUS. Ela tamb\u00e9m \u00e9 membro do grupo \u201cArte Urbana e P\u00fablica\u201d do Ge-IIC. Dirigiu e esteve envolvida em in\u00fameros projetos de investiga\u00e7\u00e3o, cataloga\u00e7\u00e3o e interven\u00e7\u00e3o, sobre pinturas murais nacionais e internacionais. Entre os mais recentes, o restauro dos murais da igreja de San Nicol\u00e1s em Val\u00eancia e o Projeto Europeu Ewaglos: gloss\u00e1rio ilustrado europeu de termos de conserva\u00e7\u00e3o para pintura mural e superf\u00edcies arquitet\u00f4nicas. Among the most recent, the restoration of the murals of the church of San Nicol\u00e1s in Valencia and the European Project Ewaglos: European illustrated glossary of conservation terms for mural painting and architectural surfaces.
