Brief history, attributions and performance of the José de Figueiredo Institute/Laboratory, within which the works on mural paintings and related mural art by Almada Negreiros referred to here fall.
Since 1970, there have been records of inspections and interventions in Almada's murals in the city of Lisbon. Of these actions, some more relevant aspects are presented.
Another mural art by Almada, no longer ''in situ'', which was (in part) intervened in the José de Figueiredo Institute by the Sculpture and Mural Painting departments, are the plaster bas-reliefs from the San Carlos cinema in Madrid . Notes of some treatments performed

Notas biográficas
Maria Gabriela de Carvalho is responsible for the José de Figueiredo Laboratory of the General Directorate for Cultural Heritage (DGPC-IJF). As a Conservator-Restorer, she regularly represents the institution in various meetings, conferences and congresses, both in Portugal and abroad, in the context of conservation problems and awareness on the principles of preventive conservation. She participates as a trainer and speaker in several actions, lectures and communications in schools, universities, associations and entities responsible for safeguarding cultural assets. In the Portuguese Museum Network, she coordinates the training needs in the Conservation area.
Maria Irene Frazão é Conservadora-Restauradora de pintura mural desde 1985, tendo exercido funções nessa qualidade no Instituto José de Figueiredo e na Direção Geral do Património Cultural, onde atualmente trabalha no Departamento de Estudo, Obras e Fiscalização (DGPC-DEPOF).
Michele Portela é Conservadora-restauradora desde 1985 (pintura e escultura) no laboratório José de Figueiredo da Direção Geral do Património cultural (DGPC-IJF).
