ALMADA celebrates the International Day of Monuments and Sites

These are the famous paintings by Almada Negreiros at the Maritime station of Rocha do Conde de Óbidos, dating from 1946-1949. If for the artist, these were his maximum exponent in conceptual and execution terms, for the dictatorial regime they were a scandal that deserved destruction. Saved by the intervention of high personalities at the time, they are today one of the greatest testimonies of Portuguese modern art. On the day when Monuments and Sites are commemorated, this is undoubtedly a witness to be preserved, valued, and known. This is the purpose of this video, made within the scope of ALMADA project, which provides a moment of silent contemplation of these masterpieces.
